One of my favorite releases of '08.
You may already be familiar with John Twells' Xela moniker, in which case you pretty much know what to expect here: Menacing ambience and blackened textures, this time augmented by some very nice free-ish drum splatter. Slightly higher fidelity than some of the more recent Xela LPs, but still nice and muddy.
MGR, on the other hand, I have never heard of. Apparently a side project of Isis member Mike Gallagher, this sidelong guitar dirge and drone is very nice to hear.
NOTE: LP includes a unique download code for both of these pieces, so you can enjoy this release in both analog and digital formats!
