the Polyps - Flies Of Winter CS
    Eggy Records #polypsfliesofwinter
Made these up for the recent east coast tour (in support of a Hello Sunshine LP) and sold them all on the road, thought I'd do a few more for non-east coasters. Very stripped down, songs and improvisations on acoustic guitar for the most part.

The Polyps - Twenty Colored Circle CS
    Eggy Records #EGGY15
This tape was conceived of as the sister tape to last year's The Gong Is the Moon on Night-People, further exploring the use of tape loops, synthesizer and homemade electronics in combination with simple song-form, but incorporating field recordings and a more pronounced audio-collage aesthetic. Three tracks; one ten-minute, side-length piece of '60s leaning pop fragments backed by Idea Fire Company-inspired synth drift, and two on the flip using mellow, electronic warble and some noisy crows. Silk screened covers, pro-dubbed tapes.

Raf Spielman was born and raised on the West Coast. He is active in the fringe music community through his Eggy Records label, and has released music on the Night-People, Digitalis and Not Not Fun labels, among others. After a handful of cassettes and a 7" under the Polyps moniker, this debut LP is his most realized statement to date, having been assembled from a year and half's worth of sound and field recordings. "It's never right, because it doesn't have everything in it," de Kooning. A book of his drawings was recently published by Container Corps Arts Press.
